After Care Instructions: How to Care for Your Raw Extensions

To maintain your hair for years to come, having the perfect hair care regimen is key!

Keep in mind that you’ve purchased Raw hair human hair extensions. Raw hair extensions are meant to act as natural hair would. Figuring out a hair regimen can be time consuming, that’s why we’ve taken the time to sum it up for our POMP Insiders!

Prior To Installing

With the zip ties attached, we recommend to CoWash your bundles. If using shampoo, be sure that it is sulfate and alcohol free.

“CoWash is when you use a cleansing conditioner to cleanse your hair rather than traditional shampoo”

When Installing

1. Never pierce weft with weaving needles when installing a sew in. This will damage the weft and lead to excessive shedding.

2. Always double the weft so the shorter hairs are facing each other and not your scalp or sticking out from your scalp. This gives your hair style a more finished look.

3. Only cut weft when necessary.

4. When heat styling, always used a heat protectant and keep the temperature of heating tool at or below 350 degrees Fahrenheit (177 degrees Celsius).

Maintenance

1. CoWash hair weekly or as needed. Be sure that the CoWash is sulfate and alcohol free, these agents tend to dry out your hair.

2. Apply moisturizing serum as needed, just a dime sized amount. It is important to not add too much, this prevents weighing down your hair.

3. Brush hair daily from root to tip

Remember to be realistic with your expectations, with proper care raw hair can last years. If you do not take proper care of your hair, you will most likely shorten the life span and be dissatisfied.
